Something New!

Oh hey there blog that I haven't written on in over a year! I would apologize for my lack of blogging but in all honesty I do not feel all that bad, I'm totally heartless I know. Moving on, my reasoning behind this blog is to let you who read it know that I have a new blog! Try not to feel super betrayed my new blog has only been created because of one of my classes this semester. I'm in a marketing for artist class and in the words of my professor it is super deluxe kick ass! The class really is amazing, it is a lot of work but it is all so helpful! Basically I'm learning how to present myself as a professional artist, which I've come to realize is much harder than I thought. So after this class is over when I meet someone I'm interested in working with instead of being like "Hi, I'm Kelly...I like cats...want me to take your picture?" I will dazzle them with my professionalism! Unless I get distracted be something shiny and or small and fuzzy, then I'm just screwed. So for the class we have to keep a blog that I am required to update once a week, it will be all about my artwork which is exciting! As of now I plan on talking about photography, sculpture and painting and my basic chaotic creative process it is going to be fun times! I figured I should work on keeping this blog updated a bit more because it will be good practice and it will dissuade me from ranting and raving about things on my new blog that aren't related to my artistic bad self. I'm also pretty sure no one in my class cares about pictures of my cat but i know you guys do! SO yeah...I'm back! GET EXCITED! Now watch me not blog on here for another year haha! I love all your faces, I think you are all super deluxe kick ass people. Be sure to click on those links to see my new bloggy so you can check out my life as an artist and all the excitement that it entails. Seriously, I made a giant tea cup yesterday it was so freaking exciting I don't know how I didn't explode from the thrill of it all. Well I hope you are all having a magical day, I send you all my love! xoxoxoxo -Kelly-
p.s. Enjoy this picture of Kip invading my personal space!

Faith

We met on an early January morning, I was thirteen and you were one. It was love at first sight! You were walking down the street and I was waiting to go to school. I saw you were alone and called for you, you came running, and jumped right into my lap which was pretty hilarious considering your size, you never did figure out that you were a big dog. You covered me in kisses, and we became instant best friends. Noah came out and was initially terrified of you, he ran away screaming only to return with a pork chop as a peace offering to convince you not "eat him" (his words). I took you inside to introduce you to mom, who was less then pleased. She said we couldn't keep you, that you were too big and too hyper to live in an apartment. We all knew she was bluffing. We tried to find where you came from we put up signs all over the neighborhood, but no one ever claimed you. I knew all along you came to find me, we were meant to be together.
I named you Faith, because I had a lot of that at the time, and I wanted to always be able to "Walk with Faith" although you tended to drag me rather then walk. Everyday for the first few weeks you'd be in the car when I got out of school, sitting there waiting for me, you'd go crazy when you saw me approaching. When mom started leaving you at home, you always greeted me at the door, then knocked me over as soon as you had the chance. If I was at home, you were always by my side, you sat between my feet at the kitchen table, slept by my bed and always woke me up with surprise kisses. You made a lot of messes, mom didn't like that so much. You chewed up everything in sight the first couple years, especially my shoes! You knocked over the trash cans, tore up and and all paper you could find and would pull down the curtains in the dining room all the time. You drove mom crazy, she complained all the time but I know she loved you too, I'd catch her petting you and giving you treats and talking to you when she thought no one was looking. When mom and me would I would argue which happened all the time, you would stand in front of me and bark at her, you always were my protector. You loved to chase Noah all around the yard, he adored you. Every Christmas he would buy you tons of bones and chew toys. At family dinners you sat under the table waiting for scraps, we weren't supposed to feed you at the table, but everyone did anyway.
When we moved into the house you got your own backyard, it was pretty big and exciting but you still managed to get out and go on several adventures by yourself, but you always came back home. Mom really started spoiling you here she fed you the craziest things, just dog food was never good enough for you. You also discovered your love of digging at the new house, mom would give you a big ham bone and you would run out in the yard and bury it. You were always so careful to make sure we weren't watching where you hid your treats! Then you'd dig it up and bring it back in the house covered in dirt and grass. After a couple years in the house Noah brought home a little tiny kitten. At the time I thought it was a terrible idea, we couldn't possibly keep a kitten in the house, you would for sure eat it. It worked out though, we somehow convinced you that Kip wasn't a snack and that you were absolutely under no circumstances allowed to eat her. She surprisingly was never afraid of you, she loved chasing your tail and jumping off the couch onto your back. You would grumbled at her but never did anything other then give her a big kiss. You became buddies, and would play and chase each other around the house, it was pretty adorable. You loved pretty much everyone you met, and most people loved you back..
When I moved away for a year I was really sad that I didn't get to take you with me, but every time I came home to visit you were always ridiculously excited to see me, you made my moving back home a lot easier. Then a little over a year ago we moved into our own apartment! You, Kip and me it was the happiest time of my life. You made friends with all the neighbors and their pets. Mom came over to visit you, and so did lots of my friends you got so much love and attention in our little apartment! The best part was walks to the park, you loved them more then anything else I will miss them greatly.
We had so much fun together you always knew how to make me smile. You sat with me when I cried, and were always there when I needed you. You were the happiest dog in the world you made my life so much brighter just by existing in it. I loved the way you greeted me at the door when I got home, and the way you were the last thing I saw at night and the first thing I saw in the morning.

Saying goodbye to you was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I don't know what I'll do without you. I'll miss you waking me up in the morning, I'll miss how excited you'd get when I picked up your leash, I'll miss seeing you asleep under the kitchen table, I'll miss everything about you. Thank you for all the happiness, smiles and laughs you brought to my life, for the twelve and a half wonderful years of  unconditional love. You made my heart so much bigger, without you now it's just not whole. I know you are having a blast up in heaven, I hope you have more cookies and toys then you know what to do with. I'll never forget you or any of the wonderful times we had! I love and miss you so much my sweet girl, you've got a big piece of my heart take care of it for me until we are together again.

Kicks and No Giggles

Hello Blogland, sorry for being such a major slacker on this...I'll work on being a better blogger! Happy Sunday! This is easily my favorite day of the week, because Monday and Tuesday are my days off and let me tell you, I seriously need some time away from my place of employment. I work at a hotel and March is our busiest month, if I was the peppy, happy-go-lucky, oozing positivity type, that my employers want me to be I'd probably be in higher spirits. Sadly for them, I'm rather the opposite of that; but next month marks my four years with the company so I must be doing something right...even if it may be keeping my co-workers entertained with my random angry rants. Or maybe it's  due to my seriously stellar people skills, thats probably it.
March in Arizona means spring training, and that means my hotel is packed with baseball fans all month long. Nothing like intoxicated thirty-something year olds running around hollering all day to make you really consider a career change. In the past this season has had the potential to be somewhat fun and exciting, especially after doing nothing for December, and anticipating the slow summer season. But this year has completely kicked my behind, I'm so very ready for it to be over! I mean I like baseball, and I get how exciting it can be to go to a game but why do all these people have to be soooo annoying!?
They travel in packs or four or five, the closer to forty they are the louder they can be. The later in the day it gets the funnier they think they are this probably has something to do with their constant alcohol intake. Every so often I have a moment when i fancy myself a total and complete comic genius, this is almost always followed by the realization that not everyone will agree with me.
These guys just don't get that last part, they think they're hilarious and they want everyone in Scottsdale to know just how brilliantly funny they are. Yeah, I get it. You are just soooo funny. My sides are splitting sir, really. Can't you tell? I'm tickled, absolutely tickled freaking pink. These high class comedians always manage to grace me with their presence in the last twenty minutes of my shift, just as I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. They come rolling in, full of beer and their hysterical one-liners. They really start to lay it on thick when they sense that that I might be less then amused. They all use the same tired jokes also, trying to charge food to rooms other then their own hahaha thats rich, sir, no one's ever thought of that before. Oh you need me to come up to your room and tuck you in? How original! I'll be right up, after I clean up the mess you and your idiot friends made as you entered the building. Maybe this is me being overly negative, but nothing and i mean NOTHING is funny at 10:26pm when my shift is scheduled to be over at 10:30pm. So feel free to save you brilliant comedic routines for tomorrow, i'll be back and waiting just for you and your entourage, in fact seems I'm lucky enough to have tickets to your show all week long!
Keep trying guys, maybe one day you'll get more then an courtesy chuckle, but probably not. I suppose I should work on being less cranky and more upbeat, I'll start tomorrow. Until then I shall finish this shift, and smile through the bad jokes. It's only two months until summer! Until next time bloggers,
Much love xoxo -Kelly-

Loves, Likes and Loathes.

Hello blog-land, and hello 2011!

This is my very first blog! Woooot woot! Rachel, aren't you so proud right now!?!? So what should I say in my intro-blog, how's about some good old rants and raves, that sounds fun!

Things I like:

  • Computers, these vicious little time suckers have the capability to drive me insane (I'm less then computer savvy) but I can't deny the usefulness. I'm not convinced that they aren't going to be the end of mankind, but the fact that I can pop virtual never ending bubble wrap or order a pizza without ever talking to another human being is kind of awesome. Depending on the day.

  • Boxes!!!! I really enjoy boxes. Small, big, short, tall. They don't even need to need to contain anything, I just really like boxes. That's all on that one.

  • Shopping centers, one of my favorite pass times is perusing a good shopping mall. Window shopping is good for the soul.

  • Bad movies. I'm well known among my friends for liking movies that are "stupid" and many times movies that get horrible reviews, and don't do well in theatres end up being my favorite. For example, The Hot Chick, I LOOOVE this movie. Seriously, it's one of my very favorite movies. I know like five people who have seen it, none of which share my affinity for it. Well...maybe Rachel...if she's watching it with me. Now I'm not saying this movie is a cinematic masterpiece, but it is one of the most hilarious movies that I've ever seen. It's simply awesome.

Things I loathe:

  • When people touch my hair. Just don't do it. I mean it, it's my hair, not yours. Hands off!

  • Sticky children. I've babysat a lot of kiddies in my day, and maybe I'm spoiled on this one, since the kids I watched were always squeaky clean. Or maybe because my mom couldn't stand it either, but there is nothing that makes my skin crawl like a child with grime on their face and hands. Whenever I see a child in public that looks grungy, It makes me crazy! I have to resist the urge to attempt to clean them, makes for an awkward wait in the grocery store line that's for sure.

  • RAISINS! And any and all dried fruit for that matter. But especially raisins, I find them to be unnatural and just plain wrong. It's the biggest injustice in the world of fruit and it makes me sick. I hate hate hate raisins, and everything about them. Blech.

Things I Love:

  • Baby animals! Puppies, kittens, bunnies any type of small fuzzy things. I just love them!

  • Starbucks, god bless you and your caffeine peddling ways! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for feeding my dependency. XOXO

  • Criminal Minds (TV show) This is really more of an obsession...as is Matthew Gray Gubler, but i'm gonna leave it on here anyway.

  • Glitter. Enough said.

  • Cameras, They hold my soul, so I'll need them in my life for the rest of time. I devote myself entirely to photography, its my world.

  • Oceans, I love everything about them, I couldn't love them more if I tried.

  • Laughter, the most powerful healer of all! It's my fuel, I need it to keep going!

Well, that's me in a nutshell. Or at least that's me right now. I'm gonna go look up pictures of baby bunnies. Until next time bloggers :)

Much Love,
Kelly
